Senior Research Scientist
About
Since November 2008, Philipp Offermann is employed as a senior research scientist and project manager at Deutsche Telekom Laboratories. He works in the project field of IT Architecture & QA, doing research and research project management.
Currently, together with Dr. Marten Schönherr, he is setting up a method factory. Within the factory, research on method construction, method configuration and tailoring, method evaluation and didactics for methods will be done. Action research and case studies are used as research methods; for method evaluation, qualitative and quantitative research methods are applied.
From April 2006 till October 2008, Philipp worked as research scientist at the department for business information systems at the Berlin Institute of Technology. During that time, he gained experience in service-oriented architecture (SOA), enterprise architecture (EA) and enterprise application integration (EAI). For his PhD thesis, he has developed a method to design business software systems according to SOA.
Philipp studied industrial engineering and management at the Berlin Institute of Technology, specialising in software engineering. He graduated (Dipl.-Ing.) in June 2006.
